Let’s start with the basics. This post is just going to explain what Classipress theme is and what you need to do to set it up in order to start your Classifieds ad site. Specific strategies to optimize or modify will come in later posts.

Classipress is the first and only professional classified ads theme for WordPress. Others call it the Craigslist for WordPress. You can use it for Jobs site, Classifieds site, an online store and anything you can think of.
It has a lot of features that include PayPal integration, five color schemes, multi-language support, AdSense, and much more.
How Classipress works?
It works just like any other wordpress theme and so you can install plugins with it from wordpress large repository of plugins.

Though, I recommend the reliable ones like Hostmonster and Hostgator for hosting. I bought the $12.00 a month that lets you host unlimited sites with unlimited database for wordpress. They have very good support at 24/7. I usually choose a host that offers an online chat support because I can explain things more through chat than the voice support.

Classipress is priced accordingly;
Single Use License – $49
This package includes one license to use Classipress on a single Web site. It’s an ideal package for a personal or small business that uses only one Web site. You may alter the theme as you wish but support will only cover the original layout and configuration. The credit link in the footer must remain intact.
Single Use License – $69 (no credit link)
This package includes one license to use Classipress on a single Web site. It’s the exact same package as above but you are not required to keep the credit link in the footer. This is a perfect option for those only wanting a single license without requiring the footer credit link.
Developer License – $149
This package includes unlimited licenses to use Classipress on multiple Web sites. It’s an ideal package for a developer, medium-large business, or a consultant who has several clients. You may alter the theme as you wish but support will only cover the original layout and configuration. The credit link in the footer may be removed.

Is it worth it?
Hell yes, it is the best that your money can buy for a classified platform!
The main advantage of Classpress as compared against classifieds scripts is mainly because it is based on wordpress. Wordpress is now the defacto standard platform for blogging and so it is updated frequently thus making it more secure and robust. With wordpress, a lot of third party support including forums are available to help you out.
How many sites can you make with Classipress?
You can use Classipress depending on the license that you have paid for. Just check the Classpress licensing cost as I have mentioned earlier.

It is slated to be released on the later part of December 09 or early January 2010.
I was searching for sites with the Classipress theme, and funny enough, we Filipino webmasters kinda topped the google results list, except for the official Classipress Support site.
Good thing Classipress decided to add the side widgets on ver. 3.0 coz I couldn’t figure out how to do it on ver. 2.9.2. My 125×125 ads don’t appear on the side.

My site is the one that I indicated on the comment. It isn’t live yet coz I’m trying to turn it into a Job Listing site using Classipress. JobPress really sucks, especially with the css and codes.
